On October 03, 2024, the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy was presented with the ISO 9001:2015 international Quality Management System certificate.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy Public Legal Entity, which is engaged in the development of educational programs and implementation of educational activities for the training of maritime specialists: higher education; secondary vocational education, technical vocational education; advanced training; improvement, retraining of seafarers, has also developed and operates a Quality Management System in the field of “International Convention on the Training, Certification and Watchkeeping of Seafarers (ICCW) of 1978”.

The organization of the educational process of institutions providing maritime education services based on quality standards is one of the requirements of the aforementioned Convention. The implementation of these requirements and international certification, which is evidence of this, play an exceptional role in the recognition of seafarers’ diplomas in the international arena.
